You’re the real thing, Jennie. That’s why I signed up, after earning a Certificate in Publishing from Metropolitan Toronto University, working as an editor for 20 years (a second career!), and teaching editing at Queen’s University and Simon Fraser. There were still gaps in my knowledge.
I’m one of your memoir and nonfiction students. I must say that I was surprised that you published the courses (and took my money) before they were completely finished. But then I thought — what chutzpah! Bravo!
I’ve got to say, though, that your program should be more forgiving of students needing extensions. I had to plead my case.
Ahhh -- and on the extensions for the course, the team has to follow the policy we set so that we are fair and equitable all around. I'm sorry you had trouble --but hope you are on track to get your practicums done!
Yes, Jennie's easily the best boss I've had in my 34 year career, and thank you for being a part of our community. Your extensive background and experience are truly impressive, and it's great to have you as one of our students.
I, for one, appreciate your feedback regarding the course structure and the need for flexibility with deadlines, and we strive to balance structure with understanding individual circumstances. While we do our best to maintain fairness and consistency, we also recognise that sometimes unforeseen challenges arise, and we aim to support our students through those times. In cases where students present different reasons for their requests, we evaluate each situation carefully to ensure we are providing the necessary support while maintaining the integrity of our program.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and for your commitment to the course. I look forward to reviewing your certification materials!
Your authenticity and integrity are what initially drew me to your Book Coach Certification - Fiction program. Listening to this podcast provided the nudge I needed to *finally* enroll!

Thank you for these kind words, Ellie.

Yes, I'm on track. But what is the policy for extensions? Is it available somewhere?
Thanks!

Wait -- you're going to enroll because of the podcast with Rachael?? That's... amazing....
Enrolled yesterday (as Barbara Kasten; Barbara Valentin is my pen name).
OH it's YOU! Got it!!! I sent you an email ;)
Love this (as always) -- thank you Jennie!
You are a model of integrity, Dan -- I'm glad you liked it!
That Memoir student was amazingly gracious! And their timing was perfect!
Wasn't she?? It was so lovely...
