Knowing your core values is critical for standing out in the marketplace and to ensure that you are running a business that is sustainable on a soul level.
Thank you for this important post. It comes as I've been dragging my feet for months after getting certified last summer. A lot of my hesitancy is around defining what kind of coach I want to be. All this info is so helpful.
Thank you for that P.S. Janet! I'm sad to hear that you are feeling stuck. Have you done the Starter Kit work? Can I send you a code for the One Page Book Coaching Business Plan mini course?
Please don't be sad :) I'm not stuck so much as distracted by other things so I'm not focusing enough to make decisions. I'm doing Client Surge now, so that's making me focus more. I did finally download the Starter Kit a few weeks ago and am digging into that this week. Thank you for the offer on the mini-course, but I did that when you offered it last year. Good to get the reminder, though. Best of luck on the memoir course. I know it will be great.
Many book coaches offer pitch-related services, including helping you develop a list of appropriate agents to pitch, helping you make sure your pitch materials (query, book proposal, mansucript, etc) are in good shape, and formulating a pitch strategy -- all of which are critical to finding an agent who is a good fit.
I love this so much - and I'm reading it as a writer - because I believe good storytelling also claims a clear place in which to stand. This, IMHO, is what gives a character and a story agency. Everything you say here, Jennie, is applicable. And also as a writer, it's so valuable to be able to connect with a coach whose values dovetail with ours.
Thank you for the kind and generous mention!!!

PS - I hope you can get some rest soon.

Okay -- it sounds like you are on your way! That's good!
The memoir course is awesome -- it's just been a long road!!!
Thanks Jennie can a book coach find you an agent? Just wondering if this is part of what they do.
